Singapore, then and now

This article triggered a reflection on how the Singapore scene has grown.

I remember in 1971 when i started the gallery, it would be unthinkable that an art event in Singapore could attract a 6 digit visitorship. Gallerists were always very close to artists, we understood and supported one another. It was so then and even more so nowadays. Found this old picture, circa 1983, taken with the late Ibrahim Hussein and Goh Beng Kwan at Art Forum Gallery.
