Goh Beng Kwan, Singapore master artist, a pioneer in his style of abstraction and collage. He was born in Indonesia in 1937.
For his contribution to modern art in Singapore he was awarded the Cultural Medallion by the Singapore government in 1989.
The vibrant colours of GBK’s landscapes began with his trips to Bali, when he said ‘nature is my studio, everywhere I look I see a painting.’
In 2010 Beng Kwan expanded his travels to beyond SEA and he continued to paint with ink, brush and vibrant colours.
