Frederic BergerCardi was born in 1968 in France.

His ink painting explores the world of contemporary style but linked to the traditions of calligraphy and landscapes.

Fred’s works assembled for ‘About Ink’ bring together the cycle from nature – the lotus and water – to an imaginary calligraphy. The ink inscribes the cycle, carving into the empty space of the paper.

Tools used by the artist are simple products of nature; brushes old leaves, cotton, twigs and branches. The process used: the works are made by layering, weaving together strata of memories. Repeating drawing and erasing with ink and water, finished with dry thickened ink.
