Born 1931 in Solo, Indonesia. Srihadi Soedarsono was one of the core artists of the Bandung School in the 1950s. During the Revolution, he fought in the students' army and was a member of the SIM (Young Indonesian Painters) group. In 1959 he graduated from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). He obtained his master's degree at Ohio State University in the United States where he studied from 1960-1962. In 1980 he returned to Ohio State University under a Fulbright-Hays Fellowship for a research program. Srihadi has taught at and chaired the art departments in ITB and Jakarta Arts Institute. |

He was a lecturer at the Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts in Yogyakarta. |
