1925 in Hong Kong; died 2005. Earl Lu was a surgeon, soldier, painter and collector.
Began his studies of painting in 1956 with Chen Wen Hsi. He led, served on the
board and acted as advisor to numerous governmental and non-governmental museums,
committees and societies devoted to the arts. He was the first Chairman of the
Singapore Art Museum (1992-2000) and was a member of the Museum Board of the
National University of Singapore. In 1995 he was awarded the Public Service
Star Award.
