TOKO
SHINODA
Born
1913 in Dairen, Manchuria, China. Moved to Tokyo in 1914. Studied calligraphy
and Japanese waka poetry from 1919-35, then began teaching calligraphy in 1935.
She started to paint in the abstract style in 1947.
