KAWANO KAORU

Born 1916 in Hokkaido Japan. He was educated at Kawabata Art School and has held exhibitions at Nihon Hanga Kyokai (1944 & 1949), and in Tokyo, New York, Seattle, Chicago (1958-1965).cHe is a contemporary of Saito Kyoshi.
His works include many woodblock prints and highly textured representation of children and birds. Most woodblock prints executed during the 1950s were not numbered, most are unique pieces.
